  • Dr. Robert Beehler, BSc, DDS

    General Dentist

    Dr. Beehler grew up as the son of a Canadian Armed Forces jet fighter pilot. As a child, he lived in military communities in Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, Germany, British Columbia, and the province of Quebec. He attended McGill University, graduating in 1986 from dental school. Since that time, Dr. Beehler has practiced at Smyth Dental Centre.

  • Dr. William H. Butterfield, BSc, DDS

    General Dentist

    Dr. Butterfield graduated from McGill University with a BSc in Microbiology in 1990 and he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1995. Dr. Butterfield has practiced dentistry at the Smyth Dental Center for over 20 years, and his practice is a general family dental practice that focuses primarily on restorative and implant dentistry, fixed and removable prosthodontics, periodontal and oral surgery. While Dr. Butterfield enjoys all aspects of general family dentistry, he has a keen interest in the treatment and management of temperomandibular disorders, utilizing appliance therapy and Botox injections.

    In addition to Dr. Butterfield’s general family practice, he is hired frequently by several Canadian Insurance Companies, to comment on suspected claimant’s Temperomandibular Disorders, that are the results of motor vehicle accidents. Dr. Butterfield is married and has two children.

  • Dr. Michel Jean, BSc, DMD

    General Dentist

    Dr Michel Jean earned his degree in 2000 from Laval University in Quebec City. He joined the Smyth Dental Centre in 2003 after starting his career in his hometown of Kapuskasing, Ontario, becoming a partner in 2005. He practices interceptive orthodontics with children and offers orthodontic services to his adult clients. He is also a member of the International Association of Orthodontics, Ontario Dental Association, Canadian Dental Association, and Ottawa Dental Society.

    He is fluently bilingual and enjoys all aspects of dentistry, especially gaining the trust of nervous patients and helping to convert them into patients who no longer fear coming in for dental appointments. He has dedicated many years of continuing education in orthodontics to help patients obtain beautiful smiles using either braces or clear aligners such as Spark Clear Aligners.

    An avid outdoorsman and woodworker you may find him enjoying mountain biking, sailing and skiing with his family.

  • Dr. Matthew Arthur Andrew Mailloux, BSc, DMD

    General Dentist

    Dr. Matthew Arthur Andre Mailloux was born in Midland, Michigan to Montrealer parents and spent his formative years in Massachusetts. He went to McGill University and received his BSc in Honours Anatomy and Cell Biology in 2000 and his Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2004 with numerous clinical awards. Dr. Mailloux has practiced dentistry in northern Ontario and Nunavut for First Nations and Inuit communities and since 2010 in Ottawa after his wife accepted a job in the public service.

    Dr. Mailloux and his wife have three young daughters and two big dogs. He enjoys spending time with his family, motorcycling and canoe camping.

    At work, Dr. Mailloux focuses on providing conservative excellence for his patients, and enjoys making all of his patients as comfortable and relaxed as possible. Dr. Mailloux volunteers regularly at The Ottawa Mission and is a member of the Ottawa Dental Society, The Ontario Dental Associate, and the Canadian Dental Association.

Smyth Dental Centre is located at the corner of Smyth Rd and St. Laurent Blvd. We share the building with the Smyth Medical Centre and we are in front of the Science and Technology Museum Lighthouse. Our dental clinic is easily accessible by public transit and we also have paid on-site parking.
